Mission
To allow rapid and secure crossing of wet gaps for heavy vehicles in bridge or ferry mode, depending on operational needs..

The Motorised Floating Bridge (PFM) is designed to allow military vehicles to cross waterways (lakes, rivers). It is a unique solution due to its speed of deployment and ability to meet multiple challenges in the theatre of operations.
In order to meet the different operating concepts, two main configurations are available: a fixed bridge (continuous crossing) or a ferry (discontinuous crossing), plus a range of equipment options.
The PFM has been used by the French Army for nearly 30 years and is also the preferred crossing solution used by the armed forces of several other countries (Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia): more than 5,500 metres of bridge length are currently in service worldwide.
The next-generation PFM designed for crossing by the heaviest vehicles enters service with the Polish armed forces.
It will also be supplied to the French Army: indeed, in late 2025 the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) awarded the SYFRALL contract for a heavy-light crossing system to the temporary consortium comprising CNIM Systèmes Industriels, CEFA and SOFRAME.
The PFM stands out for its ability to carry the heaviest vehicles used by the armed forces, its rapid deployment, manoeuvrability, reduced logistics and personnel footprint and, last but not least, by its versatility in both military and civilian applications (natural disasters).
