A system that prevents ice from forming on radar antennas passed the test in Force Technology’s large climate chamber on Lindø where the temperature dropped down to -35 degrees.
Challenge:
Terma needed to test whether a unique radar antenna with anti-icing system was operative and effective at temperatures down to -35 degrees.
Solution:
The radar antenna was tested in Force Technology’s climate chamber - the only place in Denmark that is large enough for the seven-meter antenna.
Result:
The anti-icing system proved to be effective, and Terma came a large step closer to the launch of the new radar antenna.
